Report Templates
Navigate to Setup > Measurement Preset > Report Preset. Build a vein practice template with: patient demographics (auto-populated), indication and CEAP class, segments assessed with reflux durations, vein diameters, compression status, impression, and sonographer signature.
Required Fields for Insurance Authorization
- Reflux duration (>0.5 seconds at the target segment)
- Vein diameter measurements
- CEAP clinical class
- Conservative therapy documentation (compression 3-6 months)
- Sonographer credentials (RVT/RDMS)
iWorks Workflow Automation
Navigate to Setup > iWorks Preset. Build step-by-step scanning protocols that guide sonographers through each station. Example Lower Ext Vein protocol:
- Step 1: CFV transverse, compression image
- Step 2: SFJ longitudinal, spectral Doppler with Valsalva
- Step 3: Proximal GSV transverse, diameter measurement
- Step 4: Mid-thigh GSV, diameter
- Step 5: Above-knee GSV, diameter
- Step 6: Below-knee GSV, color Doppler, augmentation
- Step 7: Popliteal vein, compression
- Step 8: SPJ longitudinal, reflux measurement
- Step 9: SSV, color Doppler
- Step 10: Perforator assessment
Each step can auto-save, auto-annotate, and auto-populate the report. Available on MX7 and M8 Elite.
Key Configuration
Navigate to Setup > System Preset > Key Config. Recommended assignments:
- User Key 1: Color Doppler toggle
- User Key 2: Save image
- User Key 3: Cine loop save
- Footswitch Pedal 1: Freeze (hands-free during procedures)
- Footswitch Pedal 2: Save image
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I create different report templates for different exam types?
Yes. Each exam mode can have its own report template via the Report Preset menu.
Does iWorks slow down the exam?
For experienced sonographers, minimal overhead. For less experienced sonographers, it actually speeds up the exam.
Can iWorks auto-populate the report?
Yes. Measurements and annotations captured during the iWorks protocol auto-populate into the exam report.
