- Whether to use DICOM Storage, Modality Worklist, Structured Report, or combination
- Network configuration: static IP or DHCP for the ultrasound system
DICOM Local Preset
Setup > DICOM Preset > Local. Set the system own DICOM identity:
- AE Title: Unique name for this system (e.g., MINDRAY_ROOM1). Must match the entry on your PACS server.
- Port: Listening port for incoming DICOM connections.
- Station Name: Friendly name for the system.
DICOM Service Preset
Setup > DICOM Preset > Service. Add your PACS server:
- Click Add to create a new service entry
- Enter the PACS server AE Title, IP Address, and Port
- Select service type: Storage, Worklist, Print, or Structured Report
- Click Verify to test the connection
Modality Worklist
Pulls scheduled patient information from your EMR/RIS directly to the ultrasound. Eliminates manual data entry, reduces errors, and links the exam to the correct patient record.
iStorage Network Backup
Setup > Network Preset > iStorage. Configure automatic backup of images and reports to a network share, independent of DICOM.
Network Configuration Tips
- Use a static IP address for the ultrasound system.
- Assign a unique AE Title per machine.
- Test with the Verify button before going live.
- Document all DICOM settings and keep a copy with the machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I check if Mindray is not connecting to PACS?
Verify IP, AE Title, and port match on both sides. Check network cable and firewall rules. Use the Verify button.
What is the difference between DICOM Storage and DICOM SR?
Storage sends images. Structured Report (SR) sends a text-based report with measurements and findings to the EMR.
Can I use Wi-Fi for DICOM?
Some models support it, but wired Ethernet is strongly recommended for reliability.
